Hagnleone’s task was to implement the specifications of the industrial designer to the letter and develop a status light with three colours that integrates seamlessly into the DMG MORI terminal design.
Due to budget constrictions, the design had to be limited to just one LED light strip. In order to achieve even yet comprehensive lighting, a Plexiglas body with complex shapes was developed.
Based on customer-specific IP67 housing concepts, two digital displays in two different designs with three pieces of information – remaining quantity, remaining run time expressed as a time frame, and remaining run time in the form of a digital green progress bar – were developed for machines operating in series processes. The displays are directly controlled by the machine in question via a digital industrial interface.

The objective was to simplify user workflows for BYSTRONIC bending machines and optimise handling by means of machine-controlled, visual user guidance. A tool position indicator was developed and implemented as a solution. Processes and tool positions can now be displayed with precision down to the centimetre, increasing production safety and reliability and reducing tool change and production times.
The customer requested a light for a new type of goods issuing system for workshops. In addition to the exact colour of the light and flush-mounted installation, the customer also wanted different-sized sections to accommodate the different sizes of the installed compartments, and stipulated that the light should be brighter when the sliding doors were opened so that users could orientate themselves more easily. The customer also wanted to improve handling.
The objective of this turnkey project was to develop, prototype and validate a sturdy yet flexible monitor arm and then deliver it in series production. Extremely tight constraints on budget and timing posed additional challenges.
Extremely high design requirements with the thinnest of luminaire structures and various ‘free-form’ base feet made this an extraordinarily demanding prototype project. We pushed all of the limits of lighting technology here, as well as exploiting the maximum capabilities of mechanical metalworking, forming and surface treatment. The final results will follow soon.
